The Head of Syndicated Research in Kuala Lumpur - Central Area

The Head of Syndicated Research will be responsible for the development and management of all syndicated studies, panels and information products in ASEAN and South Asia. The position will also make a strong contribution to the wider Crop and Animal Health team across Asia.

Key responsibilities:

The Head of Syndicated research will:

Develop and manage the Company’s Crop and Animal Health syndicated information products – farmer panel research, crop and animal (both large and small) database within key agricultural countries in ASEAN and South Asia and ensure the business continues to develop strongly and meet client needs in future. This will involve:

Study design and improvement according to client requirements
Study implementation and delivery, participating in presentations for clients and providing supplementary analysis as required.
Development of syndicated product business in cooperation with the Director; identifying prospective clients and contributing to proposals and business generation meetings.

Work closely with the Head of Operations in the Crop and Animal Health team to ensure fieldwork is carried out appropriately, on time and to a high level of accuracy.

Manage the syndicated research team (currently two people) to ensure they are fully conversant with their responsibilities and have the skills and ability to discharge these effectively.
Become fully conversant with the i-map delivery software; ensure it provides a true reflection of the information gathered for the study and that the findings are realistic within the broader industry context. This familiarity will enable the Head of Syndicated research to provide training on i-map to other members of the team and/or clients should this be required.
Participate in the monthly management meetings for the Asia Crop and Animal Health team and take an active role in developing the company’s business in the region.
Work closely with the Company’s Crop and Animal Health team in China, the Japanese and European teams to develop and conduct international research projects for the wider Asian region (or other areas) as required.

Head of Custom Research (Crop and Animal Health) as well as the broader Asian management team including the Director Asia who currently is responsible for some of these activities.

Qualifications

Key skills required:

Substantial market research track record in the agricultural sector, particularly crop protection, minimum 5 years in the agricultural industries. Genuine interest in the industry is a requirement.
A broad range of experience in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies is ideal.
Good numeracy skills to facilitate rapid editing of data and identifying key findings and trends.
Sound team management and communication skills.
Comfortable with handling client presentations.
Able to negotiate and manage supplier.
Able to conduct project debriefs independently.
